DAF Studios is a renovated 5,000-square-foot warehouse with post-and-beam construction, bow-truss ceilings rising above 19 feet and a mix of white and red brick walls. The building has the visual character of an older industrial space but the scale and openness needed for modern production and events. It can seat around 150 guests and hold roughly 300 standing, so there is room for sizeable shoots, performances and private gatherings.
The high center ceiling gives lighting and rigging more breathing room, while the brick surfaces create several distinct backgrounds without temporary flats. The room can stay fairly raw for film and photo work or be dressed with furniture and lighting for a social event. The combination of renovation and original structure is what gives the studio its appeal. It feels cleaned up enough to use comfortably without sanding away all the industrial character that makes the building interesting. This setup should be especially comfortable for shoots where the schedule matters. Hair, makeup, wardrobe and gear all need places to live, and having those functions considered in the room helps protect the actual shooting space. It also makes client days easier, since people are not constantly stepping over cases or standing behind the camera. The studio can stay fairly minimal or take on a more styled direction, but the underlying layout is practical enough that either approach makes sense. The room is not trying to replace a giant soundstage, and that is probably a good thing for smaller productions. A focused team can use the available gear and backgrounds without paying for thousands of square feet it will never touch.
