Historic Park Lodge Surrounded by Wooded Grounds for Social Events

The Lodge at Katherine Legge Memorial Park combines a historic indoor venue with the wooded setting of a 52-acre park in Hinsdale. Built in 1927 and designed by architect R. Harold Zook, the lodge has a residentially scaled, character-rich feel while functioning as an established rental venue for social and corporate gatherings. Several distinct rooms allow an event to spread naturally through the building: the Ballroom accommodates about 150 guests, the Dining Room about 120, and the Living Room about 70. The overall venue can support events of up to roughly 200 people. An outdoor ceremony area and patio extend the usable space into the park, while an equipped kitchen supports catering logistics. Wi-Fi is available, and outside catering gives renters flexibility in how food service is handled.

The mix of rooms works well for events that benefit from different phases or moods within one property. A wedding can move from an outdoor ceremony beneath mature trees to cocktails on the patio and then into the lodge for dinner and dancing. Memorials, family celebrations, showers, reunions, nonprofit gatherings, meetings, workshops, and company retreats can use the same separation between larger and smaller rooms for dining, conversation, presentations, or breakout activity.
