We caught up with Benjamin Soleimani, known professionally as Benj, while he was on set at the Newbury Mansion working alongside Blueface and Stunnagirl on their latest music video. It was the kind of setting that fits his world naturally: a high-end property, a fast-moving production, and a long list of moving parts that all need to come together under pressure.
Through Booked by Benj, Benj has built a name for himself as an entertainment concierge, talent connector, and executive producer, helping clients line up models, luxury rentals, and production support with one central point of contact. In the conversation below, he talks about how he entered the business, what clients are asking for most, what he looks for in a property or talent, and what people often misunderstand about working in this world.
Q&A with Benj
How did you first get into this business?
I first got into the business in my former life as an artist and producer. As I gained traction from my earlier creative work, I started a side venture in model management with runway models. Over time, that became a much bigger priority for me, and I eventually left my old career goals behind to focus on this full-time.
What kinds of rentals, talent, and clients do you typically work with?
I work with all kinds of clients, whether label artists, corporate brands and companies, or local and ground-level creatives. As long as someone has the budget to invest, anything is possible. Absolutely anything.
What does your role involve from start to finish when putting together the right property, people, or overall setup for a client?
My role is to unify a creative project on behalf of my client. As an executive producer, I make sure the requested talent and luxury assets are all in one place under my leadership and direction. I am the go-to person not just for production, but for anything needed during the project as a whole.
What do you enjoy most about working in this business?
What I enjoy most is the in-person networking and the content that comes from the work. It is a great feeling when there is something I helped create and can genuinely take pride in.
How would you describe the range of services you provide?
I provide models, exotic car rentals, luxury house rentals, music video and event production, and music marketing. My business is built around bringing those pieces together in a way that feels coordinated, polished, and useful for the client.
What makes a property stand out to you as a great fit for a client or production?
If a property stands out to me, it needs to have a pool, be at least two stories or bigger, and have a gorgeous view for the sake of the drone operator.
What makes the right model or talent stand out for a music video, shoot, or event?
She needs to be classy, credible, and in touch with her feminine aura. That is the kind of presence I want around a project.
What kinds of requests do clients most often come to you with?
Clients usually come to me for models and marketing. That is where the strongest demand is right now.
What are some of the biggest challenges in matching the right client with the right property or talent?
One of the biggest challenges is when an artist follows the culture blindly and becomes difficult, sometimes nearly impossible, to work with. What artists and creatives need to understand is that wasting another person's time is one of the most disrespectful things you can do, whether it is intentional or not.
What do owners often misunderstand about offering their property for rentals or productions?
Most property owners do not misunderstand much at all. They are usually wary of booking video shoots, especially rap video shoots, because they want to protect their property. What they may not realize at first is how seriously I take boundaries, rules, and the responsibility that comes with being trusted inside someone else's home.
What do clients often misunderstand about booking the right property, talent, or overall experience?
Artists, unfortunately, misunderstand a lot, and sometimes it is not even misunderstanding so much as entitlement. When an artist has to pay for a service like anyone else, they may lash out just for doing business. And once they do pay, sometimes reluctantly, they can act as if they no longer have to respect the rules or the team they hired. In extreme cases, it becomes a real god complex.
What qualities make a property owner, talent contact, or client especially easy to work with?
Communication. That is the biggest one. When the communication is there, everyone has a chance to build something great together. It is one of the most overlooked things in business and in life, but it makes all the difference.
What do people outside the business misunderstand most about what you do?
A lot of people misunderstand me in this business because I was not raised in the culture. I came into the industry with minimal to no experience and learned as I went. Because of that, if I stay firm on my principles or speak in a way that is unfamiliar to them, especially in how I articulate myself or avoid unnecessary small talk, they can find that confusing or even threatening.
Booked by Benj sits at the intersection of talent, presentation, and production logistics. What comes through most clearly in Benj's perspective is that this business is not just about access. It is about judgment, communication, and keeping the right people and assets aligned from start to finish.
